Leaving on a Sunday rather than Friday or mid-week for a big trip was a bit of a novelty and gave me far too much time. But it was a relaxed day as I finally got myself packed and eventually headed to the bus then the metro then the railway for the trip to Geneva Airport.
Once at the airport I quickly checked my baggage in and headed to the lounge to relax before the flight to London City. Sunday afternoon and the lounge was quite so I just relaxed while the time ticked by.
Soon enough it was time to head to gate C52 to wait for the bus to our aircraft.
Arriving at London Heathrow it took far too long for our baggage to arrive… even with priority tags on it… Those of as at the baggage belt started laughing at the situation 40 minutes after landing. However, when the baggage did arrive it was not far to my hotel room at the Ibis Hotel next to Excel.
The DLR was efficient with a train first to Canning town then change across platform to the Beckton service which stopped at Victoria Dock for the short walk to the hotel.
