We were soon served with a pre-departure drink and amenity kits before the plane pushed back. We taxied out runway 24R and took off and then sweeping round to the right we were on our way back to the UK.

The Service was good from a great crew. The grilled tuna was excellent, as was the chicken tikka masala, a nice bit of comfort food, as we headed by to blighty. Just a finished my main course we hit more than a light bit of chop, as we started bouncing over the Atlantic.

Grilled ahi tuna

Chicken tikka masala

The cheese board was accompanied by the largest glass of port I think I have ever been served, but it was finished.

Biscuits and cheese

I was watching the film Tolkien on the inflight entertainment system, and while I was really enjoying the film I was unable to finish it as I fell asleep again. I did eventually get the film on iTunes and really enjoyed it.

I slept for a couple of hours, and before the breakfast service was started.

Starters
Chilled orange juice

Bircher muesli
dried fruit

Bakery
A selection of warm breads
and breakfast pastries

Main
Warm peameal bacon sandwich
tomato chutney

Scrambled egg and Cheddar on whole-grain pita

The Bircher muesli was good, even for a Swiss resident, and the bacon sandwich is really just a bit of comfort food.

Breakfast

As we were getting ready for landing a checked how my mother was and how here flight was going, and unfortunately, she was starting to feel a little unwell. She always suffers from travel sickness, and unfortunately here travel pill was starting to wear off. I mentioned this to the cabin crew who were great and got her some cold damp towels to freshen up with and made sure she felt a lot more comfortable. They also made sure she did not need any medication.

The approach over the south of Wales and then flying up the Avon Gorge to Bristol, we made only one loop of the Oakham stack before a quick tour of central London and arriving on runway 27R. Then just the short taxi to stand B34.
